Division of Child Permanency and Protection
The Division of Child Protection and Permanency – DCPP (formerly known as the Division of Youth and Family Services) is responsible for investigating and assuring the safety, health and well-being of children in the state of New Jersey. As a parent, if you are facing an allegation of abuse or neglect, there is nothing more frightening than facing the Division without an informed, aggressive, and compassionate advocate. We have successfully represented clients from all parts of the state. We will protect the rights of the innocent from unwarranted government intrusion.
While many services are offered to families by DCPP on a voluntary basis to help address a risky situation before it gets worse with the hope of keeping a family together, there are cases where a parent must have a dedicated attorney who will battle the Division before the system makes the situation worse for the child. We will provide you and your family with legal and emotional counsel during every step of this process; from a case where there is an informal safety plan with recommended services for you and your child to the most serious removal proceeding initiated by the Division to terminate your parental rights, we will take care to see that your family is treated with dignity and respect.
